Level Up: Phase 2

Until January of this year, the students and teachers of Nakkavita Kanishta Vidyalaya in Deraniyagala had to trek 1.5 kilometers to reach the main water tank of the area to fetch water for their daily needs. With the understanding that ready access to clean water is a right that should be enjoyed by all, Cluster 7 took up the charge of installing a pipeline from the tank to the school as Phase 2 of their project Level Up.

To fulfill this purpose, Cluster 7 enlisted the service of several residents in the area who were willing to render their valuable time and energy to uplift the infrastructure of their community. With their immense help, the pipeline was fixed up in a weeks' time.

The Rotaractors arrived at the school on the 31st of January for the final time, to witness the denouement of their grand undertaking.

While final preparations with regards to the pipeline were being carried out, the Rotaractors began the task of renovating the school music room. The room received a makeover in the form of colour washed walls and thorough cleaning. As the Rotaractors went on with their work, wandering groups of students kept an eye on the activity from the doorways, faces marked with curiosity and fascination, at first shyly posing questions to the Rotaractors, eventually their manner becoming friendly and bold.

The opening ceremony of the water pipeline was held with the esteemed presence of two dignitaries of the Provincial Department of Education. Students, teachers, and Rotaractors alike rejoiced at the first rush of water that flowed briskly from the newly affixed tap. Several vessels were filled with water and poured onto the roots of a sacred Bodhi tree, a long-standing tradition that is believed to bring good fortune and protection.

Team Level Up did not fail to account for the school’s natural surroundings within which the students interact daily. In accordance with the ideas of sustainability, environmental conservation and human health, a variety of plants ranging from flowers to fruit were planted ensuring that the product of these trees will be enjoyed by many more generations of kids to come.

The Rotaractors were then led to the School Main Hall where they were treated to a delightful display of the students’ admirable talents in song and dance. The Rotaractors were moved by the emotionally powerful response of the school, especially the tearful speech by one of the teachers who thanked the Rotaractors profusely for their selfless work.

Team Level Up is confident that their mission has delivered a well-deserved joy to the students and their families and hope to continue to champion causes that are important and meaningful.

නක්කාවිට කණිෂ්ට විද්‍යාලයේ ගුරුවරුන් සහ සිසු දරු දැරියන් ඔවුන්ගේ එදිනෙදා ජල අවශ්‍යතා සපුරාගැනීම සඳහා කිලෝමීටර් 1.5 ක් පමණ දුරින් පිහිටි පොදු ජල ටැංකිය වෙත පියනැගුවේ දැඩි දුෂ්කරතා මධ්‍යයේය. ඒ අනුව ඔවුන්ට අවැසි පිළිසරණක් ලබාදීම සඳහා එම පාසලට ජල ටැංකියේ සිට දිවෙන ජල කරාම පද්ධතියක් ලබාදීමට ‘රොටරැක් LEVELUP ව්‍යාපෘතියේ  07වන සමූහය’ පියවර ගනු ලැබීය. එම කටයුත්ත සිදුකළේ ව්‍යාපෘතිය සඳහා තම ශ්‍රම දායකත්වය ලබාදීමට නොමසුරුව ඉදිරිපත් වූ ප්‍රදේශවාසීන්ගේද සහය ඇතිවයි.  ඔවුන්ගේද සහය ඇතිව සතියක් පමණ ඉතා කෙටි කාලයකින් මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය අවසන් කිරීමට හැකිවීම, ‘රොටරැක් LEVELUP ව්‍යාපෘතියේ 07වන සමූහය’ නියෝජනය කළ සියලු සාමාජිකයින්ට සතුටක් විය.මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය පසුගිය ජනවාරි මස 31 වනදා ක්‍රියාත්මක විය.

ජල කරාම පද්ධතියේ කටයුතු සිදුකරන අතරවාරයේදීම පාසලේ සංගීත කාමරය අලුත්වැඩියා කිරීමේ කටයුතු සඳහා රොටරැක් සාමාජිකයින් ඉතා යුහුසුළුව හා උනන්දුව කටයුතු කළහ. ප්‍රථමයෙන් සංගීත කාමරේ බිත්ති පිරිසිඳු කළ පිරිස පසුව බිත්තිවල තීන්ත ගෑමේ කටයුතු වලද නිරත විය. ඔවුන් ඉතා ප්‍රීතිමත්ව, උද්යෝගයෙන් මෙම කටයුතු සිදුකරනු ලැබීය.

ජල කරාම පද්ධතිය විවෘත කිරීමේ අවස්ථාව සඳහා පළාත් අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍යංශයේ නිලධාරීන්ද එක්ව සිටියහ. ජල කරාම විවෘත කරනවාත් සමග එම දුවාදරුවන්ගේ මුහුණෙහි ඇඳි සතුට රැස්ව සිටි සියලු දෙනාටම දැකගත හැකිවුණා. ජල කරාමයකින් ගත් පළමු ජල බඳුන් කිහිපය ඔවුන් විද්‍යාලයීය බෝධිය නැහැවීම සඳහා යොදාගනු ලැබුවා.LEVEL UP ව්‍යාපෘති සමූහය කිසිවිටක එවැනි දුෂ්කරතා සහිත පාසල් දරුවන්ට සහන සැලසීමට පසුබට නොවූ අතර පරිසර සංරක්ෂණ තේමාව යටතේ පාසල් භූමිය තුළ පැළ කිහිපයක් ඉන්දවීමටද රොටරැක් සාමාජිකයින්ට හැකිවුණා.

இவ் வருடம் ஜனவரி வரை, தெரணியகல நக்கவிட கனிஷ்ட வித்யாலய ஆசிரியர்கள் மற்றும் மாணவர்கள் பிரதான 1.5 கிலோ மீட்டர்கள் அப்பால் உள்ள  தண்ணீர் தொட்டிக்கு   சென்று தமது அன்றாட வேலைகளை செய்ய நீர் பெற  வேண்டியிருந்தது. சுத்தமான தண்ணீர் ஐ பயன்படுத்துவது அனைவிரினதும் உரிமை என்பதை புரிந்துக் கோண்ட நாம், Cluster7 மூலம் பாடசாலைக்கும் தொட்டிகுமான ஒரு குழாயை அமைக்கும் பொறுப்பை அவர்களது 2ம் கட்ட திட்ட நிலையாக எடுத்துக் கொண்டோம் .

இக் குறிக்கோளை  அடைய, Cluster 7 க்கு அப் பகுதியில் வசிக்கும் சில பிரதேச வாசிகளில் சிலர்  தாமே முன்வந்து உதவி செய்தனர். அவர்களது பொன்னான நேரம் மற்றும் சக்தியை விரயம் செய்து தமது பிரதேசத்தின் உட்கட்டமைப்பு வசதிகளை உயர்த்த தயராக இருந்த அவர்களின்  உதவியை பெற்றுக் கொண்ட நாம், அவர்களின்  உதவியுடன் தண்ணீர் குழாயை ஒரு வாரத்துக்குள் பொறுத்த முடிந்தது.

ரோடரக்ட் குழுவினர் ஜனவரி 31ம் திகதி தாம் எடுத்துக் கொண்ட பாரிய பொறுப்பின் வெற்றிகரமான முடிவை காண மற்றும்  சாட்சி பகர  கடைசி தடவையாக பாடசாலைக்கு விஜயம் மேற்கொண்டனர்..

தண்ணீர் குழாய் பொருத்தும் வேலையின் இறுதி கட்ட பணிகள் நடைபெற்றுக் கொண்டிருக்கையில், ரோடரக்ட் குழுவினர் பாடசாலை இசை அறையின் புனர்நிர்மாண பணிகளை ஆரம்பித்தனர். சுவர்கள் புது வர்ணம் தீட்டப்பட்டு அறை சிறந்த முறையில் சுத்தம் செய்யப்பட்டது. ரோடரக்ட் குழுவினர் தமது பணிகளை தொடர்வதை கதவிடுக்கின் வழியாக மிக ஆர்வத்துடன்  பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்த மாணவர்கள் மெல்ல மெல்ல  ரோடரக்ட் குழுவினரிடம் கேள்விகளை கேட்க ஆரம்பித்து பின் அவர்களின் நண்பர்களாகி சகஜமாக பேச ஆரம்பித்தனர்.

தண்ணீர் குழாய் திறப்பு விழா மாகாண கல்வித் திணைகளத்தின் இரண்டு அதிதிகளை கொண்டு நடாத்தப்பட்டது. தண்ணீர் குழாயில் இருந்து முதல் முதலாக நீர் வருவதை கண்ட மாணவர்கள், ஆசிரியர்கள், மற்றும் ரோடரக்ட் குழுவினர் ஆனந்த களிப்படைந்தனர். நீரால் நிரம்பிய சில பாத்திரங்களைக் கொண்டு நல்லதிஷ்டம் மற்றும் பாதுகாப்பை வேண்டி  புனித அரச மர வேர்களில் ஊற்றி பிரார்த்தனை செய்யப்பட்டது.

 மாணவர்கள் தினமும் நடமாடும்  பாடசாலையின் இயற்கை சுற்றுச் சூழலை ஒழுங்கமைப்பதையும் இத் திட்டம் தவறவிடவில்லை. பேண்தகு சூழல் அபிவிருத்தி, உடல் ஆரோக்கியம் என்பன கருத்தில் கொண்டு பூக்கள் மற்றும் பயன்தரும் கனிகளை கொண்ட  சில செடிகள்,  இவை மரமாகி இம் மாணவர்களுக்கு மட்டுமின்றி எதிர்கால சந்ததியினற்கும் பல பயன்களை அளித்து   நன்மை பயக்கும் என்ற எதிர்பார்ப்புடன் நட்டப்பட்டன.

 ரோடரக்ட் குழுவினர் பாடசாலை பிரதான மண்டபத்துக்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லப்பட்டு  ரோடரக்ட் குழுவினர் மாணவர்களின் வண்ணமயமான பாடல்கள் மற்றும் நடனங்களால் அலங்கரிக்கப்பட்டு மகிழ்வூட்டப்பட்டனர். ரோடரக்ட் குழுவினர் பாடசாலையின் உணர்ச்சிப்பூர்வமான நன்றியுடன் அங்கிருந்து விடைபெற்றனர். முக்கியமாக ஒரு ஆசிரியையின்  கண்ணீர் நிறைந்த பேச்சில் ரோடரக்ட் குழுவினரை அவர்களது தன்னலம் அற்ற சேவைக்கு வாழ்த்தி நன்றி கூறியது மறக்க முடியாத தருணமாகியது.

மாணவர்களுக்கும் அவர்களது குடுப்பத்தினருக்கும் அவர்களுக்கு தேவையான ஒரு பொருத்தமான  உதவியையும் அதனூடாக மகிழ்வையும் கொடுத்தோம் என்ற நம்பிக்கை இத் திட்ட குழுவினருக்கு கிடைத்தது மட்டுமின்றி இம் மாதிரியான அர்த்தமுள்ள முக்கியமான சாதனை வேலைகளை தொடர வேண்டும் என்ற எதிர்பார்ப்பையும் வழங்கியது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
