The 31st of March indeed was a memorable day of the Rotaract calendar as it marked the successful conclusion of the World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) Celebrations 2019 for the 7th consecutive year. The event was held at Thurstan College, Colombo. Joining hands in this endeavour are the Interact Club of Thurstan College and the Rotaract Clubs of Faculty of Arts of the University of Colombo (UOC), Faculty of Law (UOC), Faculty of Management and Finance (UOC), Faculty of Science (UOC), Faculty of Medicine (UOC), University of Kelaniya, University of Moratuwa, University of Peradeniya, University of Sri Jayawardenepura and the General Sir John Kothalawala Defence University. The event catered to those children who participated from various development institutions as well as individual participants. On the 21 st of September, the Law Faculty canteen was filled with the sweet sounds of baila. Presenting our very own version of a ‘paduru party’, we managed to organize ‘Saajje’ an evening filled with music, laughter and fun. Open to all students of the Law Faculty, we had talented musicians take to the floor and made everyone sway to some well-known tunes. Starting off with some classics such as Surangani , Mage Pale Andura Nasanna and Kandy Lamissi the evening ended with an array of more modern hit songs. Taking to the spirit of the event, many members were seen clad in lungi and sarongs. Although it was a small scale event, it was successful in bringing together club members and increased their friendship and fellowship. Saajje proved to be a wonderful night and a much-needed break for all the law students.

The FGS Auditorium at the College House was filled with excitement on the 28 th of September. It marked the dawn of a new chapter of the Rotaract Club of the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo. The new board members eagerly waited to be appointed and the former board members reminisced the memories of the past year.  The event marked the induction of the new president for the year 2018/19 Rtr. Sajini  Wickramasinghe and her new Board. The chief guest for the event was a familiar face to all those at the Law Faculty, President's Counsel Mr Prasantha Lal De Alwis.  World Down Syndrome Day Celebrations - Sri Lanka  "If every child matters, every child has the right to be included. And that is so important for children with special needs" -Cherrie Blaire- In line with Rotaract's vision to recognize and celebrate World Down Syndrome Day, the Rotaract Club of Faculty of Law, University of Colombo together with eight host clubs celebrated World Down Syndrome day on the 31st of March 2018. It consisted of a full day program of events conducted at Visakha Vidyalaya Colombo .  The program was a joint project conducted     by Rotaract District 3220 to promote  awareness and understanding of Down  Syndrome and related issues. ROTARACT CHAMPIONS' LEAGUE 2018 Rotaract Champions League of 2018 commenced on the 20 th of January and ended on January 28th. The league comprised of several games comprising both indoor and outdoor games for both men and women. Several Rotaract clubs throughout the country actively participated in these highly competitive games. Rotaract Club of Faculty of Law participated in games such as badminton, table tennis, tug of war, chess, cricket and athletics. In badminton and table tennis both men and women teams were  eliminated in the 1 st round. In tug of war the women team which won the first round, lost in the next round and got eliminated. In chess under women’s category, we won the 1 st round but lost the next and got eliminated. Both in cricket and athletics (4 x 100m relay) the women’s team lost in the first round and got eliminated. Up keeping with Christmas celebrations during the festive month of December, the Rotaract Club of Faculty of Law too had a 'Secret Santa' challenge organized within the club in order to build friendship and unity among its members. The members were made to draw names of other club members in order to know whom they would be the Secret Santa to. This was done before a month from the day of celebrations. Also, a budget of Rs. 400 was given for each gift. A lot of the members had a difficult time keeping their Secret Santa identity a secret. The organizers also believe how this project enabled each member to understand their Secret Santa, to know his/her likes and dislikes and through this promote friendship between them. Finally, the gifts were exchanged at the Arcade Independence precinct and all had a lovely time opening the gifts and finding out who their Santa was!

The Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of Faculty of Law and Arts University of Colombo Marking a Landmark event in the Rotaract history of University of Colombo, the Joint Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of the Faculty of Law and Arts was held on the 13th of October 6 pm on wards at the New Arts Theatre. A brand-new start! The 6 th Annual General Meeting of the Rotaract Club of the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo was held on 12 th July 2017 at the Faculty premises. The meeting also marked the appointment of the  new board of directors for the upcoming year of 2017-18. With the end of another glorious year, the meeting kicked off with the Flag Salutation, Rotaract  Invocation and the singing of the Rotaract Song. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement owing to the new members awaiting their appointment as the board of directors. First, the Immediate Past President Rtr. The 4 th  Installation ceremony of the Rotaract Club of Faculty of Law, University of Colombo was held on the  30 th  September 2015 at the College House of University of Colombo. The incoming president Rtr. Hiran Geeganage and his Board of Directors were inducted during the ceremony.
