Leader In Me
An innovative Professional Development project, Leader in Me focused on the development of leadership and team working skills among our very own Rotaractors and making them productive members of society. The project was carried out in two phases, the first phase which constituted of a general discussion conducted by Ms. Bernadine Jaysinghe on effective decision making, stress management, achievement of goals and sharing of experiences and knowledge among the participants.
The second session was a Panel Discussion focused exclusively on the undergraduates of the Faculty of Law who would be expected to become legal professionals of the country in the future. The Panel consisted of renowned professionals in the Legal arena, namely, Justice Shiranee Tilakawardane, Presidents’ Counsel Geoffrey Alagaratnam, the Precedent Partner for the F.J & G Saram, Ayomi Aluwihare and Ms. Danushka Medawatte. This discussion was a great success and of significant importance to the Rotaractors of the Faculty of Law as the panelists were instrumental in guiding the path of the undergraduates and to provide professional career advice. It was evident that the discussion took a hold on the attention of the participant from the beginning to the end and had a strong impact on the participants as the panelists had shared their own experiences with them.
Leader-in-Me is an initiative that received many positive feedbacks from the Rotaractors of the Club. Such feedback and requests of the participants to conduct another session are proof that this initiative was a great success.
